Double Topped DIPA: Small-Batch (5L, 1 gallon) Home Brew Recipe

 

 

Buckle in for our jumped up double IPA with pine and floral flavours. This beer doesn't hold back. Brewed with CaraRed malt, it has a luxurious deep red finish with caramel notes.

Method: 1 gallon BIAB (brew-in-a-bag)
Target OG (Original Gravity): 1.060
Target FG (Final Gravity): 1.011
Bitterness: 25 IBU
Estimated ABV: 6.3%

 

Ingredients

1 kg Maris Otter Pale Malt
250 g CaraRed Malt
70 g Torrified Oats
24 g Idaho 7 Hops
24 g Polaris Hops
120 g Granulated/Caster Sugar
3 g Safale US-05

 

Process

Mash: 64-68°C for 60 minutes
Boil Time: 60 minutes 
Hop Addition:
  • At 0 mins (start of boil): 1.6 g Idaho 7 & 1.6 g Polaris
  • At 55 mins (during boil): 120 g Granulated/Caster Sugar
  • At 60 mins (end of boil): 6.4 g Idaho 7 & 6.4 g Polaris
  • At Day 5 (dry hop): 16 g Idaho 7 & 16 g Polaris
